We are a Latino student movement on campus at Texas Tech that wants to change the world for Christ!
We are raising up a generation of leaders for the Latino community to help fulfill the Great Commision!
We're more than just a bible study.
The Latino population in the United States is growing at a rapid rate, that includes the Latino student populations on university campuses nationwide. These students are on their way to becoming the future leaders of U.S. Latinos in several aspects life from politics to business leaders to university professors.
Unfortunately, partly due to the idea of cultural differences, many of these students do not become involved with religious organizations on campus or never even hear the gospel before they graduate. Many of the existing organizations on campus are unaware of how to reach the Hispanic population. Therefore, some don't find a bible study or a body of believers outside of church to encourage them to seek Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.
Destino seeks to change that. As part of a nationwide movement, our mission is to raise up a generation of leaders in the Latino community to fulfill the Great Commission. We exist on campus to reach people (and anyone else for that matter) for Christ, to build them up in their faith to develop a lasting relationship with Christ, and eventually send them, through which ever direction life takes them, to fulfill the Great Commission on their campus, in the community and around the world.
Finally, Destino is not a ministry FOR Latinos, but a ministry THROUGH Latinos. God did not make us who we are by accident, but for the purpose of bringing Him Glory.
Jesus says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit," Matt 28:18.
